Trusting the Heart of Buddhism (THB) follows on from the core teachings of Discovering the Heart of Buddhism (DHB). It introduces more of the vaster vision of the Buddhist tradition and the principles that underlie it.
In Discovering the Heart of Buddhism the emphasis is mainly on direct experience and the different levels of meaning that the qualities of openness, clarity and sensitivity can have. In Trusting the Heart of Buddhism, Lama Shenpen invites an exploration of Openness, Clarity, Sensitivity in terms of Truth or Reality – the Truth at the heart of the Universe.
“The Dharma is the Living Truth; it is what we discover, learn to trust and become.”- Lama Shenpen
To become Dharma in this sense, is to realise that all beings, without exception, are truly expressions of Truth.
Trusting the Heart of Buddhism introduces ten intertwined aspects of Truth, and considers how each way of relating with Truth contributes to deepening the understandings discovered so far.
